INTRODUCTION
Mr. Rubin has over 40 years of experience in all phases of real estate acquisition and sales, development, leasing and management. Originally from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Mr. Rubin grew up in a family of real estate developers. At its height, and before selling its portfolio, The Rubin Companies, with offices in Washington DC, Boston and Richmond, developed and managed over 8 million square feet of retail, hotel and major urban and suburban office projects. When not actively involved as a partner in his family’s real estate business, Mr. Rubin was a partner in prestigious law firms in Washington DC. There he handled the legal aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, leasing, finance, sales and general business matters for real estate firms of all sizes and major pension funds. In 1998, Mr. Rubin left the private practice of law and relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where he has held various senior management positions for several leading real estate companies. In September of 2014, Mr. Rubin founded The Rubin Cos. LLC to develop for his own interests and to offer advisory services to other developers, investors, lenders and pension funds. The company was named The Rubin Cos. LLC in tribute to his father and the original Rubin Companies.
BACKGROUND
Before starting the Rubin Cos. LLC, Mr. Rubin was the Chief Operating Officer of Stark Enterprises. Mr. Rubin was a central member of the company’s development team, oversaw day to day operations and the various disciplines within the company. Mr. Rubin was the key enabler in converting creative concepts into reality. Prior to joining Stark Enterprises, Mr. Rubin was Chief Operating Officer for the Visconsi Companies. Ltd. In addition to overseeing day to day operations, he led teams involved in major big box developments and acquisition programs and supervised its company’s aggressive growth objectives. Mr. Rubin was also the General Counsel for Pyramid Management Group, one of the largest privately owned mail developers in the county, overseeing legal affairs for both the company and the properties it managed.
